Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a combat sports system that revolves around grappling and ground fighting.
Popularised by the Gracie family, it has become a way of life for many people who enjoy its effective, reality-based fighting system.
The end goal is to manipulate an opponent into positions on the ground where chokes and joint locks can be implemented, even against larger opponents.
Phoenix MMA have an elite team of practitioners and professors who have solid knowledge and understanding of human body mechanics and techniques used in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
Kickboxing classes have risen in popularity over the past 20 years due to the exciting heavyweight bouts that have graced arenas throughout Japan.
Derived from the sports of Kickboxing, K1 also takes aspects of other disciplines such as Karate, Muay Thai and Taekwondo.
The rules are similar to those of kickboxing with the main difference being that knees are allowed in K1.
Kickboxing requires strength, flexibility, speed and coordination.
Phoenix MMA Kickboxing classes empower members to attain all these attributes through rigorous training, learning various striking techniques and improving fitness levels.
Often called the art of 8 limbs, Muay Thai or sometimes simply called Thai boxing, is the national combat sport of Thailand and incorporates stand-up striking techniques, alongside clinch and neck wrestling.
Like all full contact sports, Muay Thai requires complete body conditioning, making it an excellent method for losing weight or toning muscles, as the rigorous training regimes require entire body movement.
At Phoenix MMA, we instil the mental discipline and physical endurance required to practice Muay Thai, and turn even the most mild mannered beginner into a force to be reckoned with.
