At Thaiworks gym we aim to provide students with authentic Muay Thai training. We are a friendly gym and cater for everyones needs from students that train to simply keep fit, to students that fight at amature and professional level. If our students leave the gym feeling like they have had a good work out and are enjoying the training given, then that is more than enough to satisfy us that the training is good, and that we run a progressive and structured gym.

Thaiworks does exactly what it says on the tin, We specialise in Muay Thai and dont miss out the important ingredients that make it Muay Thai, we aim to promote the sport in the right ways. Muay Thai has so much to offer anyone that practises in it, it can offer you so much if you let it into your blood! Males and Femaless are all welcome to train with us.

Simply come along to a beginners class. We understand that everybody is different and we never expect students to do what their bodies wont allow them to do, or anything that they are not comfortable doing.

Dave has been training in Muay Thai since 2005.
He is an experienced fighter and was the first fighter to fight for ThaiWorks Gym.
He has fought his way to a 'British title' and then onto a 'EUROPEAN TITLE' and won, also competed in Canada for a world title and is still developing himself.
Dave is a proven skillfull Thai boxer with many tough professional fights under his belt against some great opponents.
He has always taken his training very seriously and just when you think he cant dig any deeper.
A: No. Training is progressive and we cater for people wanting to simply get fit and learn it for self defence reasons.
All we ask is that you train with the mind that you are learning to fight and to keep it as real as you can.
Our Muay Thai classes should only be attended by people that want to learn Muay Thai, not just to get fit to ensure the quality of our students shines!
We offer pure fitness classes incorporating Muay Thai Workouts for people that want the boxing gym workout to simply get fit!
The history of Muay Thai was lost when the Burmese army sacked and razed Ayuddhaya to the ground.
With them, much of the early Muay Thai history also went.
The little we do know about Muay Thai comes from the writings of the Burmese, Cambodian, early European visitors and some of the chronicles of the Lanna Kingdom - Chiangmai.
What all sources agree on is that Muay Thai began as a close combat battlefield fighting skill.
More deadly than the weapons it replaced.
The sources aren't clear and often contradict each other.
Fists, elbows, knees and kicks combined with stand up grappling are all used in Muay Thai to create a very distinguished and deadly fighting art.
It is as graceful as it is brutal.
It is often confused with kick-boxing.
Muay Thai is more gruelling as the use of knees, elbows and grappling and kicks to the legs are forbidden in kick-boxing.
The general attitude in the Muay Thai is to 'Hurt/Knock out' your opponent, same as kick-boxing and to score points also.
Muay Thai has more of a realistic fight approach that is also for the battlefield.
