What it means to Dave's gym. We will be keeping up our very high standards of cleaning and sanitising throughout the gym including fogging the gym with sanitiser every morning. All sanitising stations will stay in place. We will still be asking members to sanitise equipment before and after use. All gym equipment will be in use. Members please respect other members personal space.
We still recommend members wear a mask in reception. More capacity allowed in the studio, booking system still in place, booking essential. No bags allowed in the gym. All showers will be in use. Thank you for all your support, sanitising and social distancing. All these measures have helped us stay open and kept us all safe.

Daves Gym was founded in 1973 by Dave Mather in two rooms behind a youth club at Winnington.
Supported by Roberts Bakery, friends and enthusiasts with just a few weights benches and dumbbells, the gym was initially only open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 6pm to 9pm for men only.
It soon became apparent more space was required for the ever increasing equipment accumulated.
Gradually the youth club allocated more and more space to the gym as it quickly expanded.
At that time it cost just 20p to train and was basic with no carpets, bare walls and although there was a variety of equipment this too was basic and nowhere near today's standards (Cardio-What was that!)

The gym prides itself on being able to offer something to everyone regardless of ability and if you are new to the gym, no need to worry we will give you an induction where we will show you how to use all of the machines.
With plate-loaded machines incorporated in to many peoples routines Dave's has a vast array of plate loaded equipment.
