GB Fit Gym
Run by 7 x world kickboxing champion Sharon Gill and Kung Fu black sash Dan Blythe, GB Fit offers martial arts and fitness classes for both kids and adults. We love to work with people of all ages and all abilities to help improve their health, wellbeing and happiness. We want to encourage more people to be active and healthy which is why GB Fit work hard to make all lessons fun and enjoyable sessions that anyone can do, while helping you reach your goals.

Martial arts teaches discipline and confidence as well as helping kids and adults become faster, stronger and fitter all round. Our fitness classes, while fun, will get you fit. With over 30 years teaching experience between us we have a huge amount to offer. We are both experienced martial artists and pride ourselves on our own fitness levels, without spending hours in a gym.

Our workouts consist of bodyweight exercises, plyometrics, cardio, padwork and stretching.
Services
I have been involved in martial arts since the age of 6 and have been training constantly for 35 years in fitness, sport kickboxing and also traditional Lau Gar Kung Fu, which I am currently a 5th degree black sash.
I am also a British Kung Fu Association (BKFA) Guardian and a WAKO Team GB coach.
I have years of experience in competing in point fighting world wide and am a current member of the GB WAKO kickboxing squad with 7 individual world titles.
I co-coach Team Bristol, our extremely successful and well respected kickboxing team, alongside running GB Fit.
Little Dragons is for boys and girls aged 4 - 7 years.
It is a fun and lively introduction to kung fu and kickboxing.
It is based around a syllabus that we have written ourselves covering the basics of martial arts, while building confidence, coordination and discipline.
The syllabus is structured so that as the children move through the belts and get older, they are taught more complicated combinations of techniques and the drills develop to match their ability.
When they achieve their brown tag belt, or turn 8 years old they then move up to the older class and begin to learn the full kung fu syllabus.
While it covers the same things by the time you reach black sash, the children's syllabus is taught slightly different from the adults.
It takes into account the age of the children and things like knife defence are taught at a higher grade than it is for the adults.
Likewise the Chinese commands are introduced at a later stage.
As well as traditional kung fu we also teach kickboxing.
This is incorporated into the kung fu lessons, but we do hold specific sparring classes for students who want to do more of this.
This is for anyone over 16 years old and is suitable for all abilities and fitness levels.
All the classes start with a warm up to increase speed, strength and endurance.
This is followed by a stretch to increase flexibility.
After this the format will vary from week to week, but will teach all the traditional aspects over time.
Students will always be working towards their next sash.
As well as traditional kung fu we also teach kickboxing.
This is slightly incorporated into the kung fu lessons, but we do hold specific sparring classes for students who want to do more of this.
All the fitness classes are suitable for adults of all ages and abilities.
They are all round fitness classes taught by kung fu black sashes and are based on the type of exercises we do for our martial arts.
Every week the format will be different to keep them interesting.
One week we may do more partner based exercises, the next may be lots of punching, the following week we may use medicine balls a lot.
