Read Simon's monthly 'Your Personal Trainer' articles featured in the Journal Magazine for Tamworth, Sutton Coldfield, Lichfield, Burton on Trent, Cannock & Walsall'. I started training because I longed to become fitter and to be more toned; and to see results. My main aim to start with was to complete a 5k race for life. First of all I was advised to complete a food diary and complete a fitness test so that Simon had an idea of my fitness levels before we started.

I filled in a food diary for a week and then Simon was able to advise me on how we could work together to get the results through an appropriate exercise programme which was tailored to suit my needs. This varied from fitness tests, running, circuit training, weights and boxing. Simon always found a variety of places to train which kept it interesting, even after a few weeks I felt I had more energy to do the running it felt great!

I trained with Simon twice a week and then when I wasn't training with Simon, he gave me an exercise programme to follow and I continued to keep a food diary.

I ve been running my own personal training business for 4 years'.
Prior to this I worked for Britvic Soft Drinks.
I held many responsible positions, which progressed promotionally to New Business Field Sales, Customer Development Executive and New Business National Account Manager.
I was a highly respected, professional person, but, during the last few years of employment, I struggled with motivation & company focus.
My release from a stressful day was to work out.
From an early age, my parents encouraged my love for sport, and supported me implicitly.
This is where you can decide which style of training is most suited to you and your friends.
You have many options while training with me.
Our aim is for me to get the best out of you while training.
Some prefer solice and one to one training, others feel they would train better with a friend.
Some prefer to train with a small group of friends and enjoy the banter to inspire you.
Which ever method best suits you we have a solution for.
For this reason I have introduced 'Your Training' offering choices on how you'd like your training to be organised.
Many people attempt a diet at some stage of their lives.
The majority of people in a gym will have weight loss as a specific goal.
The primary principle of weight loss is simple, however we all look for that magic wand that will provide the answer we seek without recognising that regular exercise supported with a daily calorie balanced food plan is the way to get the shape you are looking for.
There is only one kind of fad diet, that's a bad fad diet, a lifestyle change is what is needed.
There is nothing wrong with take aways, food on the go & other foods providing they are not eaten every day.
I have listed specific areas i can focus on along with general styles of training which i add into your programmes to help you achieve your goals.
This list is no way inconclusive but it gives a general idea of the variety of pathways we can develop.
So not to scare anyone off I have listed the most common areas I teach at the beginning of the list and further down ive listed specific sports related areas of training.
